The answer is that the roll should be heavier, although the weight of the core must be taken into consideration, as this is not any heavier - so the full roll will not be simply 5% heavier. Less the core weight, the plastic on the reel must be 5% heavier if there is 5% more. However, black film has a different weight than white or green due to the density of the coloured masterbach used in the production of coloured films. This means a roll of green or white film can actually weigh more than a corresponding roll of black, without any other change (such as film thickness or length). |
