NETWRAP SPLITTING PROBLEM IS SOLVED
BY UNIQUE NEW MANUFACTURING PROCESS

The problem of netwrap splitting, which is the bane of round baler operators, is reckoned by Tama to have been solved with its new Bale+ netwrap. "Since its introduction, netwrap has changed little in its design, being ‘knitted’ in the same style as any woollen clothing garment", points out Graham Robson, of Tama UAT. "This leaves it open to the same problems as any other piece of knitted fabric as the stitching can be snagged, causing the net to 'ladder' and leading to the netwrap splitting around the bale circumference - the bale then losing crop and, in the case of silage, being difficult to wrap neatly." The big stitches in netwrap exacerbate the laddering problem, in that the threads can become snagged or broken more easily. This then provides a loose thread which can be pulled, and so the laddering begins, the net then separating at the point where it began. “Tama has revised the manufacturing process of its Bale+ net so that this ‘laddering’ is impossible,” says Mr Robson. “And the reduced risk of this happening when baling means less downtime.” "The design of Tama Bale+ makes it clearly different from all other types of netwrap that do not have this ability. That should reassure users that bales netwrapped this way mean lower downtime, reduced crop losses and neater bales,” Mr Robson adds. Note:
